February Meeting: The Zero to Hero Journey
Yosh Han had long dreamed of sailing around the world, but a serendipitous journey crossing the equator on a catamaran from Papua New Guinea to Palau and a pact with Poseidon changed the trajectory of her life. Once a pollywog, Yosh became a shellback after that trip. It was a canon event that shaped the next several years of Yosh’s life becoming a USCG captain and ASA instructor in five years.

Good Trouble
In July 2023, Offshore Racing Outreach put together a team for TransPac, a 2700NM race from Los Angeles to Hawaii. Good Trouble was the first boat of majority minorities in the 105 year history of the race. I was thrilled to be part of the team. We were featured in the Feb 2024 issue celebrating Black History Month. Marie Rogers is the first African American female captain in the history of the race.
